Introduction • Purpose: organize and graph national transportation data for • Number of Vehicles Registered, VR • Vehicle Miles Traveled, VMT • Passenger Miles Traveled, PMT • Freight Ton-Miles, FTM • Energy Intensity of Vehicles, EIV
Conclusions • Major Findings • The spike in trucks registered in the ’90s was due to SUVs’ classification as trucks • Automobiles/passenger cars travel the most vehicle- and passenger-miles • Energy intensity of vehicles (measure in Btu/passenger-km) have been in a small downtrend since the ’60s
