  3. Answer Figurative Language Sound Devices *Sound devices are words that are used in specific ways to create a special effect using sounds. Examples: alliteration, onomonpeia • Figurative language provides descriptions and comparisons that go beyond the basic meaning of words. Examples: figurative language are: simile, metaphor, personification, idiom ,and hyperbole (exaggeration)

  6. It’s a Secret • This poem has to be a secret-so don’t ruin the game. • Using the paper provided, trace your hand. • On the back create a chart.

  7. My Hand-Example When I was young I played, coloring, outdoors, imaging the world. Later my long slim fingers wrote, worked, planted and held little hands. Busy, talented, creative and kind hands-filled with hope and love. I hope to bake cookies, hold small hands, color and play outdoors again. Who am I????

Answer • Assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds in nearby words. • Examples: • Do you like blue? • He received three emails today. • The sailor said ‘hey’ to Mae in passing • Consonance is the repetition of the same consonant or consonant pattern two or more times in short succession. • Examples-Glass boss, Mammals named Sam are clammy, Pitter-patter, Slither slather.
