  2. Different types of Bag offices:- 1. Central Bag Office - Located at Postal Head quarters N.Delhi ,“D “Section of the Directorate is the Central Bag Office. • This only deals with correspondence relating to procurement and distribution of bags. 2. Circle Bag Office - PSD in Circle Head - Quarters .They inspect the DBOs and UBOs and verify the balances. They procure, repair, auction and distribute bags.

District Bags Office - HRO and SRO Every HRO/SRO is a District bag office. • They maintain a bag account for all types of bags, category wise in respect of the Mail Offices, TMOs attached to them and the unit bag offices attached to them 4. Unit Bag Office - POs and Small Record offices.Every Post office (other than a BO, EDSO) is a unit bag office. • They maintain a day book and submit daily bag balance report to its district bag office.

  4. BAG ACCOUNTING IN DBO • Registers maintained in DBO :- • Day book  • Annexure C – watch register • Register of bags exchanged with other Circles. • Register of washable bags. • Register of unserviceable bags. • Register of reparable bags.
