  4. Permanency can include Unconditional love and support Someone to call just because Someone to trust Knowing someone is proud of you Assistance in making decisions Being accepted no matter what Knowing you are not alone

  5. Alarming Statistics • 4,000 youth age out of the California foster care system every year. • 50% of youth who “age out” of the foster care system will be homeless within 18 months • 51% will be unemployed What can YOU do to prevent this tragedy?

  6. Get Involved • Make sure the youth in your home are involved in extra curricular activities • Nurture friendships • Be considerate of issues surrounding biological families • Become a mentor • Become a CYC supporter
