  2. Things a Sophomore Should Know… • How many credits do I have? • What classes do I need to repeat? (if any) • What are my options for earning or making up credit? • What new opportunities are open for my Junior and Senior year? • What are some careers I am interested in? • What career do I need to support my lifestyle?

  4. Subject & Credits Required Your grade and credits Class listed with no grade or credit = you are in it now

  5. Am I on track to graduate? By now you should have 9 credits including: • 1.5 credits of English • 1.5 credits of Math • 1.5 credits of Science • .5 World History • .5 or more CTE credits • .5 Health • .5 or more PE • .5 or more Art

  6. Transcript Evaluation Time! Let’s take 5 minutes and count your credits

  7. What is a GPA and Who Cares? • GPA = Grade Point Average • Total value of all grades divided by GPA credits 4.0 = awesome! 3.0 = good 2.0 = okay 1.0 = hey, you passed! 0.0 = we need to talk • Who Cares? Universities, scholarship committees, and car insurance companies

  8. Maybe I will, Gosh! (graduate on time, that is…) If your transcript looks anything like this one… Meet with your counselor very soon to make a plan for credit make up.

  9. How to Make Up Credits • Summer School • Everett Online High School • Outside Correspondence Options (like BYU) • Sno-Isle Skill Center Summer Program • Community College Summer Quarter • Work or Volunteer Hours next year • Ed-Cap, Youth Re-Engagement & other alternative programs

  10. What Can I Do Next Year? • Sno-Isle Skill Center • Cascade Automotive Tech Program • Running Start • ORCA (and other specialized college programs) • Advanced Placement Classes • NJROTC • Work & Volunteer Credit
