-Design Problem--The Headphone- By Matthew Hafkesbring And Blake Thomas
The Problem Problem: Today's headphones are not convenient to the consumer at low prices. Statement: Cheap headphones are junk. You can't get a good set of headphones at a reasonable Price Solution: Deign a headphone that will be cost efficient, that is of good quality, that reduce noise and the most convenient to the consumer.
Constraints Need to be cost efficient Needs to reduce outside sound (noise canceling) Needs to be convenient to the consumer (Ex. different sized ear buds for different ears) Needs to be durable Needs to be appealing to the eye Reliable
The Over-Ear Headphone The over-ear headphones are very comfortable, but they can be inconvenient to the consumer in which they can be expensive and are big and bulky. (not easy to carry around)
Average In-ear headphone Provides the least sound. Convenient but cheap. Does not fit well into ear.(Falls out)
Around-Ear The around–ear headphone provides more to the runner/jogger in which that it doesn't fall off. The sound its real concentrated into the ear like the other two designs. Overall cheap headphone.
The In-Ear Headphone (Ear Buds) The in-ear headphone is more convenient to the consumer in which they can be cheaper and all the sound from the speaker goes straight inside the ear hole.
Conclusion We chose to do the In-Ear head phone design because of the great sound, comfort, and price. We have taken many aspects from the other types and put them into our design like noise canceling, volume meter, different size ear-buds, and a good warranty all with a cheap price.
