Classroom Forms First • Please print clearly and neatly • If a blank is not applicable writing N/A • All blanks must be filled in accurately and completely including contact information • E-mail addresses, work and home/cell numbers are important for the class (And yes, that means for you parents)
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • Between classes or during breaks any Non-Facility restroom my be used. • You are reminded that missing class for more than 10 minutes is considered an absents.
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • Each student must sign-in personally on the class sign-in sheet at the beginning of each class period and if you are tardy you are to write an explanation of why you were late. • Each student will receive a standard operating procedure manual and be expected to follow it in all situations.
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • The SOP will be added to and/or modified as conditions warrant and students will be expected to adapt to changes when issued in writing.
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • Each student must follow Desoto ISD dress code each day unless otherwise directed by special order of the Principal. • A substitute may not alter the alter the policy in any form or any reason.
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • The uniform will kept in clean and in serviceable condition at all times • Uniforms will always be worn as directed in the SOP and in accordance with DISD policy and procedures. • You are expected to be physically clean
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • Each student will be expected to keep his/her work area free of trash and keep the classroom clean. • No Food or Drinks are allowed in the classroom at any time by a student. • NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN OUR NEW CLASS ROOMS, None , not at all, no exceptions.
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • Electronic devices may not be used during oral instruction time or during a quiz or exam. You are expected to pay attention and take notes. • Violation or abuse of this policy will result in the electronic device being picked up and turned into the office per Desoto High School policy and procedure. Additionally a referral to the Principle.
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • The use of electronic devices is enforced and following the use policy will be strictly enforced. • Electronic devices may not be used during tests, lectures, projects or activities unless you are instructed to do so. • Did we say no food in classroom?
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • Students absent from class, lecture or demonstration will have to go to the STUDENT CLASSROOM WEB SITE to review material missed, and if applicable, compete any assignments and tests. • It is the students responsibility to come to the teacher if they missed class.
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • This will include:Sickness, Class Trips, Athletic Events, Pep Rally's, Band Trips, Alternative Class, BIC, Personal Trips, use of phone at the phone booth, meeting with a counselor, principal or the nurse, etc. • Disdcriminaljustice.weebly.com and the district web site will have all assignments.
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • Students are personally responsible for completing assignments, quizzes, tests or projects before the completion of the six weeks grading period according to the DISD grading policy. • Late work WILL NOT be excepted two days prior to the end of when grades are due by the teachers, unless you were absent that day.
Classroom & Housekeeping Rules • Students who fail to complete an assignment must get written permission from the Desoto High School Principal to have the grading period extended or a grade change for any reason
Cheating • Cheating will be a zero. • You can not make up a zero from Cheating. • Cheating is a sign that the Law Enforcement Career is not for you and you may want to consider another career choice.
School Supplies • 3 ring 3 inch binder with notebook paper • Graph paper, 3 x 5 cards • Pencils for tests • flash drive for presentations • Scissors, tape, ruler, glue • Hand sanitizer, or hand soap • Your own Kleenex • Dividers 1 through 30
School supplies , continued • Markers / colored pencils/ crayons • I will not provide normal school supplies this is yours and your parents responsibility just as you did in elementary school. • Having supplies will be part of your daily grades. • Supplies for your CERT certification will be provided when we get to that chapter.
FEES Law Enforcement II • $40.00 fee For the National Academy of Emergency Dispatchers, this is graded by them and controlled by that organization. Due ASAP • $25.00 fee for CPR Certification, if you are in another course of mine this year you do not pay an additional CPR fee. • If we do not raise money for SKILLS USA or TSPA competition you will be responsibly for this also.
FEES Correctional Services • $25.00 to go to the TSPA organization that provides the certificate of completion for TDCJ’s training materials. • $25.00 for American Heart Association for CPR training • If we do not raise money for SKILLS USA or TSPA competition you will be responsibly for this also.
FEES: Forensic Science • If we do not raise money for SKILLS USA or TSPA competition you will be responsibly for this also. • To have materials to make your own crime scene kit; many normal house hold items.
FEES: Law Enforcement I • Optional CPR training good for two years, $25.00 towards American Heart Association. • If you chose to participate in Skills USA or TSPA competitions and we do not raise enough money you will be responsibly for that fee.

Student run Class Law Enforcement & Corrections • One Captain will be chosen for each class. • Two Sergeants will be chosen for each class. Responsibilities: • Hand out paper work, • Pick up assignments • Check work prior to turning in. Students to Sergeants , Sergeants to Captain
