  13. When did Rizal go to Japan? • On February 28, 1888 Rizal was enchanted by the natural beauties of Japan, the charming manners of the Japanese people, and the picturesque shrines.

What were his accomplishments? • Rizal became a member of a Spanish Legation at the Azabu district of Tokyo. • He became prominent in Japan’s journalistic and political circles. • He grew rich as editor of ChoyaShinbun and later became a member of the Japanese Parliament.
