  1. E-book promotion Cindy Mohammad in collaboration with College Librarians

  2. E-book promotion Technology used: QR codes How? QR codes on shelf wobblers that are attached to bookshelves throughout the Library Purpose: Prompt library users looking for a book on the shelf to look for e-books

  3. E-book promotion Wording ‘Look for an e-book online’ will be changed to: Many of our newest books are e-books.

  4. E-book promotion QR code linked to http://www.vu.edu.au/library Purpose: Prompt library user to do a title search using the button ‘book/e-book’ Note: Link will be changed when a search book for e-books is available on the e-book webpage: http://www.vu.edu.au/library/access-borrowing/search-browse-resources/ebooks

  5. E-book promotion Purpose: To promote a specific title. How: QR code is linked to URL for a specific title e.g. specific QR codes used by Law Library.

  6. E-book promotion Question: Can this wobbler be used for another purpose? Example: redirect library users to the front page of the Library website so that users can see the search box and select the ‘e-book’ button to do a search. http://www.vu.edu.au/library Issue: We’re not providing them with a new book title and we’re using two different wobblers linked to the same url http://www.vu.edu.au/library

  7. E-book promotion • QR code provider • - bitly (already being used by the Law library)https://bitly.com/ • or Kaywa http://qrcode.kaywa.com/registration/ • Testing done by Lou Connell and Jennifer Murphy to generate a QR code • What’s left to be done? • -Linking it to the url, printing QR code, and sticking it to the amended wobbler ‘Can’t find a book on the shelves?’ and testing to see if size of QR code is adequate. • -Developing user-friendly guide • - Finalising quantity of wobblers to be printed • Timeline: To be ready for week starting 17 Feb
