MPR (MajelisPermusyawaratan Rakyat) • People’s Consultative Assembly • Consists of DPR and DPD • DPR is representing all political parties • DPD is representing provinces (4 people each) • Amends UUD 1945 • Inaugurates President and Vice President
DPR (DewanPerwakilan Rakyat) • House of Representatives/Parliament/Legislative Assembly • Consists of all political parties • Legislates regulations (‘Undang-Undang’) under UUD 1945. • Approves annual finance proposal from the government (APBN)
BadanPemeriksaKeuangan (BPK) • Auditing financial expenditure of government
MahkamahAgung (MA) • Supreme Court • The highest level of court (the last gate for justice seekers)
MahkamahKonstitusi (MK) • To evaluate any regulations issued by DPR and Government • to ensure it doesn’t conflict to the regulations on it. • Consists of 9 members
KomisiYudisial (KY) • Judicial Commission • Monitoring all judges to act honestly, clean and professional.
President & Vice President • Elected directly by people of Indonesia • Choose cabinet (department and non department ministers) • Presidential system • State and government leaders • Supreme commander of military • presidential pardon: clemency, amnesty, abolition, and rehabilitation
Governor and DPRD • Provincial level • Chosen directly by people of that province • Governor and Vice Governor as the executive • i.e. Brantas river, bridges, Kelud victims • DPRD (province level council) is the legislative • High court (pengadilantinggi) is the judicative
OtonomiKhusus (Otsus) • Jogjakarta • Aceh • Papua
Kabupaten & Kota • Counties and cities are led by regents and mayors. • DPRD (district level council) is the legislative • They are elected directly by the people. • District court is the judicative.
