Bowling Delivery Mary Sanders Luke Zavala Tommy Buczek
Five Steps • Prep Phase • Load Phase • Wind Up • Release • Follow Through
Prep Phase • Feet Close together • Balanced Posture • Elbows bent, holding ball in front of dominant pectoral muscle
Load Phase • Bowling ball swings down in dominant arm as bowler steps toward pins • Swing arm and bowling ball are controlled, moving in a straight line
Wind Up • Bowling ball is swung behind bowler’s body as he or she continues to step toward the pins • Swung behind to create potential energy before the release phase • The head and upper body remain as vertical as possible
Release • Bowling Ball is released below the bowler’s knee • Elbow is almost fully extended • Foot opposite the bowling ball is forward upon release
Follow Through • After the bowling ball is released, the arm will continue to swing forward and will finish above bowler’s head
