  1. Step I – Prepare Your Hair • Grow hair before locking it • Grow hair by wearing braids or interlocks before locking it(only if you want longer hair to begin your locs) • Cut damaged (split ends, chemically processed) hair before locking it Locs for Life

  2. Step II – Wash & Dry • Wash your hair at least twice with a non-residue building shampoo • Apply conditioner after washing, rinse your hair thoroughly to remove any traces of conditioner • Sit under a hooded dryer on medium setting until your hair is completely dry Locs for Life

  3. Step III – Spread da Butta’ • Separate hair into sections • Apply a generous amount of loc butterto each section • At this point, there are five techniques you could use begin your locs Locs for Life

  4. Step VI – The Techniques • Braiding • Comb coil • Palm roll video diagram • Finger twisting • Two-strand twist Locs for Life
