Über den MCC Der „Mobile Communication Cluster“ (MCC) wurde 2003 ins Leben gerufen. ­Ziel war es, die Region zu einem führenden Kompetenz­zentrum für mobile Kommunikationstechnologien aus­zubauen. Heute dient der Cluster als Innovationsraum, um Trends und neue Technologien über Pilotanwendungen in nationale und ­europäische Märkte zu überführen. Innerhalb des Clusters hat sich das ­m-Solutions-Center als Förderprojekt ­des Landes NRW und der Europäischen Union formiert. In den vier Geschäftsbereichen fungiert es als Koope­ra­tionsplattform für kleine und mittelständische Anbieter und als Anlaufstelle für Unternehmen oder Einrichtungen, die auf der Suche nach ­innovativen Informations- und Kommunikations­technologien und Koope­rationspartnern sind. Als neutraler Technologie-Stützpunkt setzt der MCC hier den Landesauftrag um, den Nutzen funkbasierter und ortsunabhängiger Infor­mations- und Kommunikationstechnologien zu fördern und zu erschließen.
