Common people had to treat the samurai w/ respect=anyone who disrespected a samurai was killed • Tradition placed restrictions on the samurai: For example: certain entertainment couldn’t be attended to (theater), or they couldn’t take part in trade or commerce.
Samurai had to follow a strict code of rules (Bushido) Bushido=samurai code of rules bushido= to be brave & honorable fighters • Men & Woman of samurai families learned to fight (men only go to war & woman say home and protect the family)
Samurai live simple & disciplined lives (disciplined= better warrior) • Many Samurai participate in peaceful rituals for there concentration (Zen Buddhism )
