Final Exam Overview • Skills, not content • Inference, close reading, creating and supporting an argument, identifying theme, analyzing characters • What is the format? • One story (10-15 pages long) • Some multiple choice, some short answer • Questions will ask you to • make an inference • Find answers by doing close reading • Create and support an argument based on the story • Analyze characters in the story • Identify and prove a theme in the story

  3. Final Exam Prep • Each day we will practice a skill that will be tested on the final • Prep: • Thursday: inference and close reading • Friday: Analyzing characters • Monday: Creating and Supporting an Argument • Tuesday: Identifying Theme

  4. Extra Help • Extra practice can be found by clicking on “final exam prep” on Moodle • Complete the practice on your ipad • See me either before or after school and we will go over your answers • Friday after school I won’t be available

  5. But first… • Move your TKMB folder to “archived units”

  6. Final Exam Prep • Read and annotate “The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant” • Complete the “Close Reading and Inference Questions”
