We Should Make Plans for Good • God was a planner. • Ephesians 3:10-11 • Romans 5:6 • Acts 2:17-21 • God orchestrated our redemption.
We Should Make Plans for Good • Everything in the big scheme of life is under the control of God. • 1 Corinthians 10:13 • Romans 8:28
We Should Always Begin With Prayer • Proverbs 16:3 • Jesus was a man of prayer. • Get alone with God and talk with Him. • Why? • Greater clarity of thought. • Greater confidence to proceed forward. • James 1:6
We Should Always Listen to Wise Counsel • Proverbs 15:22 • Proverbs 20:8 • Seek counsel in times of major decisions. • Financial • Career • Parenting • Health
We Should Always Work Our Plan • Proverbs 21:5 • Too hasty in too many areas. • Be diligent • Especially in spiritual manners. • Bible study • Church participation • Prayer • Service to God and others
We Should Always Work Our Plan • Many reasons to give up: • Discouraged. • Lack of organization. • Way things are done in worship. • Talents not utilized. • Hurt feelings.
We Should Be Willing to Alter Our Plan • We are not “right” all the time. • Proverbs 16:9 • Proverbs 19:21 • Our plans often get altered. • Births/Deaths • Illness/Occupation • Selfishness which leads to sinfulness
Planning Suggestions • Write down your plans • Always consider the downside. • Always include some fun in your life. • Accept the size of your plate. • Use technology, but don’t let it rule over you.
