Enhance track fit analysis by optimizing PT calculation and likelihood estimator in PtMethods code, yielding improved results with dEta cuts. The approach uses Max(L) and alternative PT selection for better accuracy and compatibility with stubs. Notable changes in ME1-ME2 dPhi and Quality 3 Tracks.

What’s new • Results with respect to version 3 of new code (with first trial set of dEta cuts). • In PtMethods code, Max(L) is calculated twice. First, using (dPhiA, dPhiB) then using (-dPhiA, -dPhiB) to account for the fact that we get |dPhiA|, where the relative sign of dPhiB is derived from delta_phi_sign bit. Currently the we take Max(PT+, PT-) as our solution. • Since all constants going into the likelihood estimator are identical, an alternative approach is to take the PT which corresponds to Max(L+, L-) instead of Max(PT+, PT-). • In the forward region, this has an added benefit of allowing us to choose the PT solution between the 3 trials which best fits with all stubs in the track as implied by the value of the likelihood itself. dPhi v 1/pt, ME1 – ME2 dPhi 1/pt
