  4. Life Cycle • Omnivore • Babies stay with mom 5-6 years • Lives up to 50 yr. in wild • Mammal

  5. Adaptations • Squeeze wet leaves over mouth to drink • Communicate with hands • Chimps make and use tools • Uses stick to clean back

  6. Reasons for Endangered Status • Leopards and pythons kill them • Deforestation • Poached for coats • Scared of humans with guns

  7. Conservation • Less than 100,000 left in wild • Making laws against poaching • Scientist are learning what they need to survive • Raise money
