  3. TDG Improvements • Management structure, hierarchy of authority. • Attitude of staff members and establishing a team vibe. • Communication and support of volunteers. • Recognition of volunteer’s efforts and roles.

  4. Suggestions • Expansion of the educational department to include more instructors. • Development of more classes, more demonstrations, and more hands on experience activities. • Implementation of classes into their educational program such as “How to get started in gardening”, “Butterfly gardening do’s and don’t’s”, “Vegetable gardening in the native environment”, and “Good Versus Bad Bugs in the Garden.” • She would like to see the green house open to the public. • Housing native species of butterflies so they have relevance to the native environment.

  5. TDG in Three • Staff members evolving into a more welcoming and helpful demeanor. • increase in membership, as well as new customers on a consistent basis. • Focus more on the uniqueness of TDG (Organic, only native plants, the ability to teach customers how) • Give customers the ability to leave the TDG with knowledge and capabilities to apply what they have learned at home.

  6. Revenue Stimulation • Collective marketing with nurseries, gardening organizations, organic product oriented stores. • Organizing a mailing list for event promotion. • Increasing TDG plant sales to more than twice a year as 2010 results yielded a great amount of revenue. • Utilizing the vacant land to grow plants and vegetables for retail sales. • Selling seeds generated on-site. • Selling native butterflies that are not protected under government regulation. • Heavy promoting on scheduled workshops and classes to increase attendance and ticket sales.
