Introduction We asked ourselves what was a major issue we had in our jobs when working with employees. Common Response: Felt uncomfortable with the amount of information we had in regards to employee benefits
Interview Questions • What do HR Reps need to know successfully answer benefit questions? • How can HR Reps have information/resources at their finger tips? • Why don’t HR Reps have a better understanding of how benefits work?
Interview Questions(Continued) • What types of tools are available to HR Reps to become more knowledgeable about benefits? • How can Benefits Coordinators and Benefit Companies communicate better to HR Reps? • How do HR Reps maintain knowledge if there is a change in benefits?
Needs Analysis/Problem Statement HR Reps need adequate information and resources to successfully assist employees with benefit issues.
Proposed Training Program • Initial HR Representative Orientation • Continuous training throughout year to maintain/update HR Representative knowledge
Timeline for Eliminating Deficiencies • Orientation – 3 half day trainings, one a week for first month • Final week (4th Session) includes group benefit review, question/answer session, orientation evaluation • Continuous training – Live meetings, Wiki, HR Helpdesk, etc.
