WP4 : R&D on radiopurity of materials and purification techniques Objectives : • Collect existing information on radioactive contamination of materials typically used in the construction of detectors. • Implementation of a database containing collected data as well as new measurements. • Development and test of purification techniques to improve radiopurity. Already planned : underground facility for electroforming copper at LSC. Radon purification system at LSM. • Collect data on cosmogenic activation and perform new measurements. Development of MC codes to analyze the cosmogenic activation of different materials. Deliverables : First test version of data base Other objectives : • Systematic comparison of measurements in different labs • Compilation of all Ge sensitivity (WP1) WP4 - ILIAS meeting, Sept. 2004, Edinburgh

Proposed data to be included in the database Construction materials: Type of detector Measured by Ge, type n, 200 cc @ LSM EDELWEISS And to state clearly how the errors were obtained It is important to give as much information as posible to identify the material For components, such as resistors, connectors, etc the same data given in dpm/item WP4 - ILIAS meeting, Sept. 2004, Edinburgh
