BAD • Dowry is a custom observed in several cultures and it has become a social evil. • The number of females has always been less than males due to social preference for boys and the resultant infanticide. • Families demand dowry for themselves it is as if they are selling and buying daughters. • Girls commit suicide due to the demand of dowry.

GOOD • Parents give this money to their daughters to buy what she needs , until she feels comfortable enough with the family to spend their money. • Dowry is just like a gift for the married couple. • It is good because it secures daughters financially at least once. • Daughters have lived with their parents what’s wrong in it to give a little amount of your parents property. • Whatever the parents of girl give with their happiness is all that you should be happy with’
