LOCATION - Wed & Thurs Mt Stirling “Sterling Experiences” Ski in Ski Out Tent camp at the Cricket Pitch
Middle Years - Safety • Ski Patrol support for entire program • Mobile phone communication • Campsite has Refuge Area for emergencies • Qualified and First Aid Trained OE staff • Eltham meets industry standards for risk management procedures
Clothing & Equipment • Students should pack as per the equipment list, attached to the parent letter. • Students must have 2 sets of thermals – top and bottom. • Students must have a japara and over-pants • Students must have, beanie, gloves and sunglasses or goggles. • Students must carry a whistle • Students must have a good quality down sleeping bag.
Students meals • Students will be in a cooking group with their tent partners. (groups of 4) Students will provide : 4x breakfast, 5x lunch, 3x dinner & snacks Eltham will provide dinner on Monday evening.
Food • Snacks encouraged – preferably filling like muesli bars, fruit or fruit bars etc rather than lollies – no individually wrapped lollies. NO NUTS • Cup a soups, hot milo and chocolate strongly suggested. • Mon & Tues – lodge based meals – access to refrigeration and bbqs. • Wed, Thurs, Fri – snow camping. Cooking on gas stoves, but require lightweight meals as carrying them in. • Cater for $70 per student maximum to do food shopping.
Reminders: • Pack using clothing list • Bring cut lunch on Day 1 • Leave electronic gadgets (& phones) • at home • Make sure medical info is up to date • and returned
