Goal • Students will research the issue of gun control • They will either then pick a pro or anti gun control choice • Students will group together into teams of 6-8 • Each team will debate a team of opposing view in a timed debate

Evaluation • Students will be graded in the following fields on a 1-5 scale • Debate Argument Outline: Each student will construct an outline of their arguments to be used during the debate, it will be graded on completeness and thoroughness • Information Cited in Debate: Students will be expected to cite sources of information used during debate in an outline on a works cited page • Composure: Students will be graded on their speaking ability during the debate, grade will be based on areas such as eye contact with audience, clearness of speech, and use of gestures when speaking
Conclusion Students will hopefully have learnt how hot and debated issues with the Bill of Rights are to this very day, and how divisive views are on how to deal with violent crime
