Incandescent lamp • Most inefficient type of light bulb • incandescent light is an electric light which creates light with a wire heated to a high temperature by an electric current until it glows.
Limelight • A limelight was used to light up stages. • The limelight is also know as a calcium light. • A limelight is a made out of a blowtorch and a piece of lime. When the flame heats up the lime, it lights up.
Energy saving light bulb • The energy saving light bulb need a lot less energy to operate than an incandescent light bulb. They save money and last longer (around 3/4 times). • The European Union has banned the manufacture and distribution of all incandescent light bulbs , meaning that the 60 watt clear bulbs will no longer be made.
L.E.D lights • LED stands for Light-Emitting Diode • L.E.D lights are very expensive. However they last forever and so are more efficient than any other lights. • LED lights are relatively new technology.
The Florescent Tube • We see florescent lighting virtually everywhere, offices, stores etc.. • It converts electrical power into useful light more efficiently than an incandescent lamp. • Standard fluorescent light bulbs created and used in the 1930’s
