Nittedal • Nittedalis a densenly populated area that has more than 20 000 inhabitants and a fantastic nature.
Jarle Bernhoft • From Nittedal • Singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and lyricist. • Born and raised in Nittedal. • Went at this school, Bjertnes, in his youth. • Has been on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in the USA.
Alf Prøysen • ANorwegian writer and folksinger and his productions are well known all around the country. • The most famous songs are “musevisa”, which is a traditional Christmas song. • He lived most of his life in Nittedalwith his wife and two children. • There is also a monument at Mosenteret.
Varingskollen • A famous and popular landmark • A popular alpine center. • Previously used as a signal place with markers that was used to warn people against enemies. • In addition to that, Varingskollen is a popular ski resort • There are also activities in the summer, a race called Varingskollenup
Bjertnes High School • Locaded in theheartof Nittedal • Mo centrenext to theschool • 656 pupils attending and 100 teachers working in the school this year • Founded in 1976. • In 2009 there was added an extra floor to the school
Bjertnes High School • Different traditions at the High School are: - Go on a Peace Trip in the third and final year. - In the second year, the different language-classes visit either France, Spain or Germany, depending on the language they are studying.
Russefeiring • The third graders celebrate finishing 13 years of education, by partying for a whole month. The celebration is called “Russefeiring” and lasts from mid-April to mid-May. We spend thousands of kroners on clothes, vehicles, alcohol and tickets to various events. Different famous artists preform at these events, like last years; LMFAO and Avici.
