  4. Phone Make a phone call

  5. Schedule an Appointment • Mimic the Quest Diagnostics format for scheduling an appointment • By satellite location • Zip Code

  6. Info from the app will be transferred to your doctor so you don’t need to re-enter it. Review you info and confirm! Confirm!

  7. Tele-Conference The app should also include face-to-face contact between patient and PCP based on appointment.

  8. Contact a Health Care Provider • Studies show that patients with Hepatitis C are more likely to contact a health care provider, clinical provider, or nurse than their physician. • For that reason, our app should have a feature similar to that of ZocDoc, as the patient will be able to locate Hepatitis C specialists near them.

  9. Search By specialty and location The patient will enter their zip code, reason for visit, and search for a local health care provider, certified in Hepatitis C treatment.

  10. Contact a psychologist/psychiatrist • Contacting your psychologist and psychiatrist is a vital part of this process, as the drugs may have damaging side effects that cause patients to quit treatment. • In addition, we are trying to treat symptoms, if present. • These screens will mimic that of the physician.

  11. Support Groups • http://www.hepatitis-central.com/hcv/support/main.html • This is a wonderful website to incorporate into our app.

  12. Finding Support • Getting support from friends and family is vital to a patient’s recovery. However, it isn’t easy to break the news. • I found 2 pdfs that will help the patient share information about HCV in the gentlest way possible, in addition to: http://www.hepatitis.va.gov/patient/diagnosis/nextsteps-single-page.asp

  13. Patients in Your Area • This feature of the app will probably be the hardest to develop, but probably the most beneficial to patients. • It will allow patients to connect and discuss HCV on a personal level. • Patients will have a profile in which they disclose information about themselves and seek guidance from others in their community.

  14. Public Patient Profile About me: “……..” Age: Duration of HCV: 1996-2007 Pre/in treatment/post Phone number: Email:
