Use of SMPP Server API in bonding SMPP Entities

SMPP Server is a bulk messaging principle that allows the business user to communicate with millions of target audiences effectively and efficiently. The protocol also enables smooth interaction and exchange of short message services between SMPP server provided by SMPP server providers and external messaging entities. While the former servers are technically referred to as short message service centers (or SMSC), the latter external entities are known as external service messaging entities (or ESMEs). SMPP server API is an application programming interface that is used as an interactive platform which connects the above-stated entities. Contact us: 91-9981122255 or taniya@msgclub.co.in

  1. Bonding SMPP entities with SMPP serverAPI Communicating with bulk SMS services is one of the easiest and convenient ways for business units. Since business communication essentially follows a one-to-many relationship, it is important for the business house to reach out to tens of thousands of target audiences. Bulk SMS services offer businesses with thispotential. Using this service, a business house can send and receive SMS to and from colossal business audiences quickly, generally within seconds. Seeking a glimpse on backstage, the SMPP protocol and servers provided by SMPP Server Providersrole-play to connect and send/receive SMS to/from millions ofusers. Taking into consideration the technical nomenclature, SMPP protocol is a commonly used abbreviation for Short message peer to peer and is essentially a protocol that enables smooth interaction and exchange of short message services between SMPP server and external messaging entities. While the former servers are technically referred to as short message service centers (or SMSC), the latter external entities are known as external service messaging entities (orESMEs). The task of SMPP Server API:: Proper interaction and exchange of SMS between these two entities allow the business units to send millions of messages to the target audiences. However, the above-stated entities cannot communicate with each other directly and need a platform that connects both ends of SMPP services. SMPP server API does exactly thesame. SMPP server API is an application programming interface that helps the SMPP server in connecting with the other SMPP entities as and whenrequired. Generally, there is one SMPP server that is assigned for a group of ESMEs. Since none of the business units shall continuously send or receive bulk messages, it is not advisable to assign a designated SMPP server for every client-side entity. Rather, one server can be shared by multiple ESMEs on the principleTDMA. TDMA stands for time division multiplexing and is vitally is a channel accessing method (CAM) that is used to facilitate SMPP server sharing without incurring any interferences. Using this admission method allows SMPP server providers to let multiple client entities share and use the same SMPP server for different time slots. The quintessence of this sharing lies in the verity that various ESMEs transmit in instant succession. Thus, multiple client-side entities share the same potential of the SMPP server but only use a segment of itsmagnitude.

  2. Issuing a request/response Pair:: Whenever the two entities wish to establish a connection for the exchange of information a request/response pair should be initiated. The SMPP Server APIis responsible for initiating and answering this pair. While the request is issued from the client side entity, the SMPP server API is exposed with the incomingrequest. If the server is unoccupied during that time instance, the API responds back and establishes a firm connection. Similarly, when the server wishes to initiate a connection, the API issues the connection request and throws the same on ESME. If in either of the cases, the other entities are not in an idle condition, a connection denial response is sent back to the initiator. Once the entities are connected, the desired exchange of information takes place and then forth the entities can disconnect using a similar process of issuing request/response pair.
