Requirements (1) • 64-bit version of SQL Server with Windows Authentication • Collation: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS • Features: Database Engine Services and Reporting Services • SCCM does not support dynamic ports
Requirements (2) • SQL Server 2008 SP2 CU9+, SP3 CU4+ • SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 CU6+, SP2 • SQL Server 2012 CU2, SP1, SP2 • SQL Server 2014 (only Upgrade)
Requirements (3) • Standard or Enterprise • SQL Express for Secondary Site only • SQ Server Express 2008 R2 SP1 CU6+, SP2 • SQL Server 2012 Express CU2+, SP1 • SQL Server Express 2014 (upgrade only)
MEMORY • When installed on the same box, limit the memory: 50% to 80% of usable memory • When installed on dedicated box, limit the memory to 80% of usable memory
databases • 1 database file per core (max of 8) • 1 tempDB file per 2 CPU’s (max 2) • Disable/limit autogrowth • Limit log file size • Recovery mode set to simple
Disk Layout • Raid 10 • Split disk and scsi controller • Split databases and log files • Combine tembDB and tempdb log
