  2. Experiment 1 Science with Milk

  3. Right now you should… #1 gather supplies for your group experiment. SUPPLIES • 1 TOOTHPICK • 1 FOOD COLORING • 1 PIE PAN • 1 PLASTIC CUP OF WHOLE MILK • 1 PAPER CUP OF DISH DETERGENT

  4. Right now you should… #2 pour the milk into the pie pan

  5. Right now you should… #3 put on Denny’s Smock over your clothes. Then add drops of food coloring to the milk in separate locations.

  6. Right now you should… #4 Dip the toothpick into the dish soap. Then touch the toothpick to one of the spots of food coloring in the milk.

  7. Right now you should… #5 Return supplies to counter. Dispose of milk down drain.

  8. Right now you should… #6 Come to front of room and pick up hand cut outs. Then pass out one to each student.

  9. This is the beginning of Mrs. Pfister’s Presentation.

  10. Right now you should… #3 students come to the front and pick up the worksheet for your group

  11. Right now you should… #4 student come to the front of the class and get the pitcher or milk for your group

  12. Right now you should… #5 student come to the front of the class and get the rest of your supplies for this experiment

  13. Right now you should… #6 take your measuring cup and pour ½ a cup of milk into each of your 5 containers

  14. Right now you should… #1 take your measuring spoons and measure out 1 tsp of vinegar - pour that vinegar into container #1.  Stir the milk until I say stop.

  15. Right now you should… Continue on to jar #2, but use 1-1/2 tsp of vinegar for this container.  Stir until I say stop.   Again, observe what has happened to the milk in jar #2.  Write your observations on your worksheet

  16. Right now you should… Repeat this process for 3 more containers, and increase the vinegar each time. 3rd cup use 1 tbsp of vinegar 4th cup use 1-1/2 Tbsp of vinegar 5th cup use 2 Tbsp of vinegar

  17. Right now you should… Student #2, bring materials to the front of the room. Empty the milk cups into the sink

  18. Right now you should… Complete your worksheet. Mrs. Pfister will collect them soon!
