Department of Radiation Safety Institute of Isotopes, Hungarian Academy of Sciences H - 1525 Budapest, P.O.B. 77, Hungary www.iki.kfki.hu Description The IKI Pulse Train Reader is a list mode acquisition system for neutron coincidence counting. It consists of an external hardware unit and a user-friendly windows software package. Measured data are transferred to the PC and written to hard disk. The recorded pulse train, can be evaluated with different predelay and gate length, what is not possible with conventional multiplicity shift registers. IKI PTR-II Pulse train recording The external hardware is based on common FPGA circuits and transfers time-intervals between consecutive neutron pulses to the PC via USB line. Follow-up data are written in binary format to hard disk by a PC program. During measurement the time interval distribution is displayed, what is useful for diagnostics and research. Pulse train evaluation Multiplicity distributions as well as total and coincidence count rates are calculated. The evaluation is possible with different predelay, gate length and long delay. The evaluation software is very fast. Rossi-alpha distribution and die away time are also calculated. Measurement rate : up to 3 million pulses Timing resolution:±5ns Connectors on rear panel: Input: TTL pulses Output: 30 ns TTL pulse on every input USB: max. 10 MB/s Power:5 VDC, 2.5 A AC adapter Dimensions: 180 mm *200 mm* 40mm High voltage supply (optional): 2kV, 500μA Email: huszti@iki.kfki.huPhone : +36-1-392-2222 Ext. 3339
