BalticGrid-II 2nd AHM, May 12th 2009, Riga BalticGrid-II and SA3 SA3 Application integration and support special attention for support of users and services - a new activity Involves all 13 partners Effort for SA3 is 91 project months SA3 objectives Grid-specific support for the scientists Integration of scientific applications needed by users Provide to users grid tools like batch job managers, GUIs, VO management software and the likes.

BalticGrid-II 2nd AHM, May 12th 2009, Riga Application integration • Next Applications support groups are already working on several scientific applications: • ElectroCap • NAMD • ABINIT • Computational Fluid Dynamics • Mechatronics (Vibroengineering) • OCTAVE • MATLAB • ANSYS • Softimage XSI • MPI • etc

BalticGrid-II 2nd AHM, May 12th 2009, Riga Application integration • DSA3.2 "1st report on Gridification of applications" on PM13 • DSA3.3 "Best practices in Grid-enabling applications for EGEE-like infrastructure" on PM15 • Next bunch of applications will be chosen during the meeting and application support specialist continue the work. • Milestone: 10 applications in five different scientific areas should be grid-enabled on PM24.

Deploy tools developed by JRA Collaboration with EGEE RESPECT program The RESPECT program (Recommended External Software for EGEE CommuniTies) aims to publicize grid software and services that work well in concert with the EGEE gLite software Work in progress with Ganga and GridWay
