Facts • The name of my person is Cesa’r Chavez • He was born near Yuma, Arizona on March 31, 1927 in a town called San Luis, Arizona. • He is Mexican- American. • His occupation was that he was a labor leader who used non-violent methods to fight for the rights of migrant farm workers. • He died on April 23, 1993.
Facts • Some important things you might want to know are: • He and his wife organized voting registration drives for the new US citizens. • In 1968, Chavez organized a five-year “grape boycott”, the movement urged people to stop buying California grapes until farm workers had contracts insuring better pay and safer working conditions.
