2 INTRODUCTION Growing up, my parents used to encourage me to try new things. Some things (like joining the school newspaper) went well. Other ideas (like attempting to cut my own bangs after watching two Youtube tutorials) produced less fruitful results. This year, in the spirit of entering college, with my impulsivity at an all-time high and my caution at an all-time low, I figured there was no better time to try pretty much anything that I had a deep, earnest inquiry about. (My rule of thumb is that almost nothing short of dying is off limits.) Better yet, I would record all of my results and findings—satisfactory or borderline traumatizing, it’s pretty much a throw of the dice—in the form of an article. For this week’s agenda, I wanted to try Biofit. They claim one can eat, drink, and sleep all they want to and still lose weight!
3 Bold claims. Thus the start of my self serving mission to prove them wrong. The First Week With three unsuccessful years of dieting under my belt and a slight overestimation of my willpower, I thought this task was going to be a piece of cake (haha). And if it actually works, I could reap the rewards of being a little smaller: lower risk of cardiovascular disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes etc. For Monday's breakfast I had the works; eggs, bacon, hash browns, and PANCAKES. The last time I ate this well, I was over my Nana's telling her about my acceptance letters! Mid-afternoon I understandably felt slow and sluggish. I took the Biofit as directed. The second day I went to a Blasian style all-you-can-eat buffet. Gleefully, I swept through the various steam take lines. It was glorious. I'm talking seafood on beds of rice, dessert stations, sushi roll line, soup stations, and a hibachi cooking area. I picked up my plate— somewhere between the size of a saucer and regular dinner plate I thought to myself, "This is going to take a few trips" —and it did. I wrapped up that night with a plate of crab legs, shrimp, butter, and cocktail sauce with another plate of yakitori steak, cheese stuffed mushrooms and a slice of chocolate cake. Before I went to bed I took the Biofit and washed it down with OJ. I was really pushing it and I knew it. By Friday I was over, overindulging. My body desperately craved good nutrition; so I went to my local market.
4 All I'm gonna say is Pinterest is a girl’s best friend. I had enough meal ideas to last the whole week! That night I had steamed vegetables and egg flower soup. I once again took the Biofit and went to bed. The Second Week Wednesday afternoon I had an event for work I absolutely could not miss. So I grabbed the cleanest shirt I could find and threw on my go-to pair of shorts to head to Walmart. To my surprise— I HAD LOST 2½ INCHES OFF MY WAIST I couldn't believe it. Right before my very eyes, I actually needed a BELT for my shorts. I was equal parts perplexed and enthusiastic. All I've done for these past few days was eat and sleep. If this didn't happen to me, I honestly wouldn't have believed it. Thursday morning I decided to double down. Biofit + eating right + *shudders* exercise. I wanted to see what path this regimen would lead me too. By Sunday evening, I was ready to weigh myself and actually see what I achieved in this 14 day challenge:
5 I lost a total of 9½ pounds and 4 inches from my waist! How did we get here? Where has Biofit been all my life? Final Takeaway This stuff works 1000x better when you're treating your body well. I'm going to keep taking the Biofit whilst weight lifting and eating right for the next 6 weeks. Let's see how that goes. I will update this article with my final before and after results.
