  2. We wrestle against… Wrestling: a contest between two in which each endeavors to throw the other, and which is decided when the victor is able to hold his opponent down with his hand upon his neck.

  3. The Devil: Father of Lies (John 8:44) • His desires find a place in the heart • His desires destroy lives & souls (Jno. 13:2, 27) • His advantage is gained when we are ignorant of his devices, 2 Cor. 2:11

  4. The truth of God’s word, Jno. 8:45-47 (8:37-38, 31-32) The truth of honest speech, Eph. 4:25 The devil desires lies where there should be truth, Jno. 8:44 Gird your waist with truth(Eph. 6:14)

  5. Light has come into the world, Jno. 3:19-21 (2 Cor. 4:6) Walk as children of light, Eph. 5:8 The devil desires darkness where there should be light, 2 Cor. 4:3-4 Shod your feet…gospel of peace(Eph. 6:15)

  6. No opportunity, Eph. 4:25-26 Satan wants you, Lk. 22:31-34 Stand in the faith, 1 Cor. 16: 13; Col. 2:6-7 (Rom. 1:17) The devil desires a place to stand where none should be given, Eph. 4:27 Shield of faith(Eph. 6:16)

  7. Heaven’s wisdom helps remove disturbances, Jas. 3:13 Selfish rivalry, boasting, lying… confusion of evil, Jas. 3:14-16 The devil desires confusion where there should be order, 1 Cor. 14:33 Breastplate of righteousness(Eph. 6:14)

  8. War against the world, sin & error, 2 Cor. 10:3-5 Militancy of gospel & godly living, Matt. 10:34 (Lk. 12:51) The devil desires peace where there should be war, Jeremiah 6:14 Whole armor of God…to stand(Eph. 6:13)

  9. Conflict & strife among brethren, Gen. 13:8 (Eph. 4:31) Be of same mind… give ourselves to peaceful living, Rom. 12:16-21 The devil desires war where there should be peace, James 4:1 Prayer, watchful perseverance(Eph. 6:18)

  10. Know the truth: Corrects, frees, calms the spirit & brings sober thinking Walk carefully, Eph. 5:15 The devil desires senselessness where men should come to their senses2 Tim. 2:24-26 Helmet of salvation(Eph. 6:17)

  11. Humility cures worldliness Jas. 4:6-10 Devil is resisted “in the faith,” not in opinions, Jude 3; Gal. 2:4-5 The devil desires tolerance where there should be resistanceJas. 4:7; 1 Pet. 5:9 Strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Eph. 6:10)

  12. Cunning, crafty, deceptive and powerfulEph. 6:11-12; 2:2 Desires surrender... we must standEph. 6:11, 13 In Battle Against the Devil Sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17) Victory in Jesus!(1 Jno. 3:8; Rev. 12:9-11)
