    2. 0311 Rifleman The mission of the Marine Corps rifle squad is to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver, and repel the enemy’s assault by fire and close combat.

    3. 0311 Rifleman The rifle squad is composed of 13 Marines One squad leader and 3 fire teams of 4 men each Each fire team consists of a fire team leader, automatic rifleman, assistant automatic rifleman, and a rifleman

    4. 0311 Rifleman The rifleman uses several weapons and Optics to accomplish his mission: M16A4 Service Rifle M203 Grenade Launcher M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) RCO (Rifle Combat Optic) PEQ-16 AN / PSQ-18 Day / Night Sight M-136 AT-4 M72A7 LAW

    7. M203 Grenade Launcher Lightweight, single shot, breech loaded, pump action, shoulder fired weapon Attached to the M16 and carried by the Fire team leader Fires a 40mm grenade

    8. M249 SAW Gas operated, belt/magazine fed, air-cooled, automatic weapon Carried by the automatic rifleman Suppresses targets at 1,000 meters with rates of fire up to 850 rds per minute

    9. Optics The AN/PVQ-31A (RCO) is, the official US Marine Corps designation for the Trijicon TA31RCO-A4, known as the Advanced Combat Optical Gun sight (ACOG). Mounted on the M16-A2, M16-A4, M249 SAW

    10. Optics -The AN/PEQ-16A is a multifunction Aiming Laser device. -Emits visible or infrared (IR) light for precise weapon aiming. -Allows rapid target acquisition. -Gives the shooter the ability to illuminate areas. -Equipped with integrated high intensity, variable focus, White Light Illuminator.

    12. Light Anti Armor Weapons AT-4: Lightweight, self-contained, anti-armor weapon, consisting of a free-flight, fin-stabilized, 84mm rocket Single shot disposable cartridge

    13. Light Anti Armor Weapons M72A7 is a Light weight self contained anti armor weapon. It is made of two tubes, man portable, fired from either shoulder, water tight, and has a percussion type firing mechanism.

    14. Fixed Fragmentation Mine M18A1 Claymore mine: Anti-personnel mine consisting of 1.5 lbs of C-4 and approximately 700 steel ball bearings

    15. Grenades Hand grenades are used for killing the enemy, destroying equipment, and for signaling purposes M67 Fragmentation M18 Colored smoke

    16. M32 Multi Shot Grenade Launcher The M32 is a hand-held, semi-automatic, gas-operated, spring assisted, 40MM multi-shot grenade launcher. It is a revolving action, cylinder-fed weapon with a six round capacity, capable of firing all DODTI and NATO standard lethal and non-lethal 40x46MM low velocity munitions that have an overall length of 140 MM (5.5 inches) or less.
