  7. The Message of Jeremiah • The people of God brought this on themselves. Jer 4:18. • Do not put your trust in the temple! Jer 7:4,11 • God’s purpose is not to destroy but to purify and redeem • God is not dead, God has not left. There is hope! Jer 23:1-10; 29:6-7

  8. Throughout destruction, God’s message is clear For surely I know that plans I have for you, say the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future of hope. Jeremiah 29:11

  9. Table Discussion • Reflect on your own experiences of suffering, loss and displacement. How and when did God’s word of hope break through?
