Test Environment Rules • You must take the exam in the same room that you scanned during the proctoring setup for the current exam. • No one else enters the room when you pass the proctored exam. • The lighting in the room should be bright enough to be considered quality "daylight." • You have to sit at a clean table or desk. • The table or wall around you should be empty. • The room should be as quiet as possible. Sounds such as music or television are not allowed.
The Computer You Used to Perform the Test • The computer you are using for the test should be nothing more than a display or monitor. • You must close all other programs or windows on the test computer before starting the test. • You do not have to use the tools like Excel, Word, or PowerPoint. Skype, or any page on the web other than the exam window for our course, including other content on edX.org
Extra Time or Special Allowances If you have a disability and need more time or specific accommodation to pass the exam, consult your disability resource organization as a group of courses before choosing an exam page. Consequences of Rule Violations If you violate the online proctoring rules and receive an Unsatisfactory status, you automatically receive a score of 0 for the exam. For most courses, you are no longer eligible for academic credit.
