  3. Location • 2nd largest country by land area in the world • Surrounded by three Oceans • Atlantic on the east • Arctic on the north • Pacific on the west

  4. Landforms • The Rocky Mountains are found in western Canada and stretch over 3,000 miles long from British Columbia in Canada to New Mexico in the U.S.

  5. Landforms • The Canadian Shield covers a large part of the country surrounding Hudson Bay.

  6. Landforms • It is known for its thin, rocky soil and rough, rolling landscape. This region is rich in valuable minerals.

  7. Landforms • Fertile farmland is found in the St. Lawrence River Valley and Great Lakes region

  8. Landforms • Great Lakes-Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, and Superior (only Michigan is entirely in the US) • Thousands of lakes and rivers, many carved by glaciers

  9. Landforms • The St. Lawrence River links the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean • Provides trade routes from central Canada to the Atlantic Ocean.
