Gorkha Earthquake, 2015 • 25th April, 2015, at 11:56 local time, 7.6 magnitude earthquake with the epicenter in Barpak, Gorkha District, 80 km northwest of Kathmandu • Gorkha Earthquake was followed by thousands of aftershocks including M6.6 and M6.7 within 24 hours and Mw7.3 (ML6.7, Department of Mines and Geology) on 12 May 2015 which caused additional damage and casualties.
