  1. Periodesasi Sejarah Pendidikan Islam Periode Nabi Muhammad SAW. Periode wafat Nabi hingga akhir Bani Umayyah yang ditandai dengan berkembangnya ilmu-ilmu naqliyah. Periode kejayaan pendidikan Islam sejak kebangkitan Abbasiyah sampai jatuhnya Baghdad. Ditandai dengan adanya kemunculan madrasah, berkembangnya ilmu aqliyah dan perkembangan kebudayaan Islam. Periode kemunduran, yakni sejak jatuhnya Baghdan dan takluknya Mesir ke tangan Napoleon yang ditandai dengan runtuhnya konstruksi budaya Islam dan berpindahnya pusat kebudayaan ke Eropa. Periode Pembaharuan yang ditandai dengan kebangkitan umat Islam abad ke XVIII.

  2. Sasaran Pendidikan Islam Generasi muda: Pendidikan Islam dalam arti pewarisan Masyarakat bangsa di luar Islam: pendidikan Islam dalam arti dakwah Islam.
