Tradition of Pecan Park Grove This land sustained the Cormier family for generations. The late patriarch Oscar Cormier was raised here and eventually used this land to raise his own family. The land eventually went to his daughter the late Nel Billeaudeau. Nel was an educator and believed in people living wholesomely. Mrs. Lisa Simon- Billeaudeau and her husband decided that for people to live comfortably they need a special place to call home. A place that is affordable, has amenities, parks and perks that make it a village more than a house on a pasture. We set out to make a community that would become this special oasis for people. We found that Manufactured housing can allow people to buy the precious Cajun American dream: owning a house and maintaining the culture that is so unique to Southern Louisiana country living. We call this homesteading. Pecan Park Grove is a park filled wonderland for those who can see the future of this dream today. Are you a homesteader? A pioneer able to recognize a resource of great value for your family and future generations? If so we can work together to become part of the tradition at Pecan Grove. Are you ready to share as part of your homestead, a reconstructed Cajun village, a park area, a visitors center that was the original home of the Cormier family? The roads built as your neighbors settle in are roads that will lead to a vending area and shops… As the phase one homesteaders you will have the pleasure of watching these resources grow as your community grows. You are our first homesteaders in a grand tradition that started on this land with the first Cajuns, and then the Cormier family… Welcome!
