  2. Manatees get hurt by the propellers of boats, which can mame or kill them.

  3. Lions kill elephants for food. Hunters kill them for their skin and tusks.

  4. Bengal tigers are poisoned, shot , trapped, and caged.

  5. The Golden Lion Tamarins are highly threatened because 90% of the primary forest has been cut down.

  6. Ring tailed lemurs are threatened largely because people in Madagascar cut down the forest.

  7. The Jambu Fruit Dove is rare and its habitat, the rainforests of South East Asia, are rapidly being lost.

  8. The Harpy Eagle’s major threat is the loss of habitat and shooting.

  9. The Hyacinth Macaws are endangered because they get trapped and get sold as pets.

  10. Pandas are dying out mainly because of one main reason: habitat loss. Their main source of food is bamboo which takes a long time to grow.

  11. The White Rhino is endangered because its horns are wanted for traditional Asian medicine.

  12. The key deer was hunted because of its fur and food supply by the native tribes, passing sailors , and early settlers.

  13. How To Save Rainforest Animals • Don’t use too much paper • Recycle plastic, cardboard , etc • Don’t dump oil and trash in lakes • Don’t use too much water • Don’t smoke • Don’t use too much fireworks • Ride bikes and carpool • Always turn off lights when not in use
