Summary • Data shows total activity data static over last 5 years. • However, activity pattern has changed (reduction in inter-vertebral surgery but increases in other spinal surgery). • Slight drop in referrals from NHS Highland to NHS Grampian. • Increasing use of private sector. • Data does not reflect out-patient work – perception that this is increasing.
