  2. Timeline: 65,000,000 B.C.E. (ish) to 2,000 C.E. Cenozoic Period (Age of Mammals) Cape Cod was formed (23,000 to 18,000 years ago) First homo sapiens (modern humans) (200,000 BCE), Dinosaurs become extinct You are here... Most recent ICE AGE 0 C.E. 5,000,000 B.C.E. 35,000,000 B.C.E. 45,000,000 B.C.E. 55,000,000 B.C.E. 15,000,000 B.C.E. 65,000,000 B.C.E. 25,000,000 B.C.E.

  3. As far as we know... BUT... Before 1836, we didn’t know that Earth experienced ice ages... Before 1856, we didn’t know there were Neanderthals... Before 1879, we didn’t think prehistoric man could paint Before 1901, we didn’t think people could create clocks to calculate the motion of stars and planets... Before Tuesday, September 13th 2018, we didn’t think humans were on Madagascar 10,000 years ago BEfore 2016, we thought hominins (human ancestors) didn’t come to Indonesia 50,000 years ago… Now stone tools have been discovered there that are 118, 000 years old!

  4. So, knowing that we are learning new information about how humans came into existence every day, and knowing that animals evolve or become extinct, what are the factors that made our ancestors become us?
