Three basic functions • Train instructors • Support Child academies • Assist Child with Quality
1. Train Instructors Academy instructors need to meet the following criteria Know their subject field well Be a good teacher (best practices, student engagement, etc.) Abide by the program rules and guidelines Child proposes, Parent disposes In addition a Parent Academy instructor: Must be able to share teaching experience LMC and CL’s responsibility to ensure that their instructors meet criteria
2. Support Child CNAMS support “How do I …. On CNAMS?” Any experienced CATC/RA member Curriculum support “I am having a problem with …. in chapter ….” Typically CL or instructor Operational/Business Support “How can I promote the program to female students?” Typically LMC and/or CL
3. Assist Quality Support Visits AKA Quality Visit mechanism This is not a witch hunt! Pillars of Quality Well trained and committed Academy staff and instructors Institution’s Management committed to Academy Properly equipped Academy facilities Ultimate proof of Quality The students
Additional Parent responsibilities Create opportunities for child’s continuous education e.g. Regional events, during Support Visits, etc. Work with AAM to grow program Recruit child academy/support program development Ensure flow of communication to Child Remember that communication is a two-way process Curricula Adoption
