It was great meeting everyone at Back to School Night! • Thanks to all parents for sending in • beginning of the year paperwork, for • your generous wish list donations, and • for your offers to help out! • A few reminders: • Please send name-tag back to school every day • for the first few weeks • Return homework on Fridays • Read to your child nightly! • PE is on Tuesdays. Please put athletic type shoes on your child each Tuesday. • Show and Tell is on Fridays. • Wish List Items Needed: Small and Large White Paper Plates, Hand Sanitizer, Hand Soap, Baby Wipes, Disinfecting Wipes, Heat Sealed Laminating Pouches • Math- Unit 1 • Recognize and name numbers up to 10 • Count up to 20 orally • Sequence numbers 1 to 10 • Write numerals 1 – 10 • Count a number of objects 0 - 10 • Compare items in two sets • Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 1 – 10. • Demonstrate that numbers have a quantity using objects • ELA- Smart Start - We Are Special • Introduce Alphabet Aa-Zz • Phonemic Awareness • Writing- I am _______. • Build background using oral language • Increase listening comprehension • Reinforce phonemic awareness • Recognize high-frequency words • Reinforce letter recognition • Participate in shared writing • Make predictions • Apply phonics and high-frequency words • Recognize/identify setting, characters • Social Studies/Science- • Rules/Procedures • Bus Safety • All About Me Homework • Review sight words each night! • Read a book each night! • Reading: Read “I” book to your parent. (Keep) • Math: Count 10 objects around home, i.e. • 10 pennies, spoons, toys, etc. • Handwriting: Name Page • Language: Letter Recognition – Pages 1 & 2 – • Keep at Home and review as needed • High Frequency Word: I – page 4 (keep at home) • Letter Recognition - page 5 • Letter Recognition - page 6 • Return all homework on Fridays. • Have a great weekend!
