OA Representative Training. Provided by: Wag-O-Shag Lodge Training Committee. Basic Duties. Go to Chapter and LEC meetings and report back to troop members who were unable to attend. Encourage other scouts to do community service. Assist with leadership training.

OA Representative Training Provided by: Wag-O-Shag Lodge Training Committee
Basic Duties • Go to Chapter and LEC meetings and report back to troop members who were unable to attend. • Encourage other scouts to do community service. • Assist with leadership training. • Encourage other troop members to be active in the lodge and become brotherhood. • Encourage camping. • Help out with troop OA elections. • Enthusiastically wear scout uniform correctly. • Sets a good example for others.
Qualifications • Under 18. • An active member of the lodge in good standing. • Has dues paid in the lodge and troop or team dues.
Appointment • Generally, the SPL will appoint a representative and the scout master will approve the appointment. • Then the new rep. needs to inform the lodge that he is now an OA rep, which can be done online. • The rep. will undergo a training session to learn how to best do their job. (today)
Troop Rep. Advisor • The purpose of the advisor is to assist the OA rep. (This does not mean going to every meeting for them). • Must be an active adult in the lodge also in good standing. • Can help to provide transportation for the youth members especially to meetings. • Wear scout uniform correctly and encourage others to do the same.
