The Different Styles of Roman Architecture • During the Roman republic, the Romans used Temple Architecture. • They blended Etruscan & Greek features • Put the most emphasis on the front of the buildings. • Concrete: • Helped create a Revolution in Architectural design • Created larger & heavier buildings

3 types of Columns • Doric Style: 1st & most basic, single purpose-> hold up large buildings • Ionic Style: same purpose, more flair->decorative base and top • Corinthian style: fine decorative details, huge, served to hold up buildings & increase the awe of the people
