That's according to a recent survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers, which tracks college graduates' job offers." Let Math Club help you pursue that path. Purpose/mission Purpose: Reaching out to the community Provide necessary skills and traits essential in the future – patience, gaining of trust with peers, experience in teamwork and collaboration Impacting KM and students – greater cause Not only for our own benefit, but for peers and KM as a whole.

  3. Esther Yang • Junior – President • KMTA student and IB Diploma Candidate • Currently taking IB SL Calculus & lovin’ it!  • 2nd violin principal for Bellevue Youth Symphony • State place/titles in violin and piano

  4. Marianne Rojas • Junior – Vice President • KMTA student and IB Diploma Candidate • Currently taking IB SL Calculus and lovin it!  • Plans to attend a university offering ROTC • Enjoys reading, watching crime/cop shows, and volunteering in the community

  5. Rory Jens • Senior – Secretary • IB Diploma Candidate • Captain of the KM Tennis Team • Currently taking IB HL Calculus and lovin’ it! 

  6. Zane Duke • Senior – Historian • IB Diploma Candidate • Currently taking IB HL Calculus and enjoyin’ it!  • National Merit Semifinalist • Writes for the Royal Herald • FIRST Robotics • Hopes to attend MIT next fall

  7. Randy Nguyen • Junior – Treasurer • IB Diploma Candidate • Currently taking IB SL Calculus and lovin’ it!  • Plans to attend medical school • Career goal: Neurosurgeon

  8. Mrs. Transier • Teaches Geometry and both years of IB math studies • 8th year at Kent-Meridian • Has 3 kids • She and her husband have played an important role in changing KM’s reputation

  9. Requirements (for Tutors) • One math teacher letter of recommendation • 300 word essay entitled: “Why I Want to be in KM’s Math Club.” • You must include why you want to be in math club while stating your strengths/weaknesses in math, and how they play a role for you to become a potential tutor in math club. • Application due (in 2 weeks) December 2nd • Some people will be rejected based upon number of applicants and applicants’ qualifications

  10. Goals for Math Club • Inspire student appreciation of Math • Impact KM through improving math grades • Perform community service • Fundraising for FUN :D

Careers • According to the Wall Street Journal:Mathematician is considered the Best Job of All Jobs.Mathematicians median annual income was pegged at $94,160.The top 3 jobs on the list were: • 1. Mathematician2. Actuary3.
